Brand Story

Welcome to Burnt Soul. We are the Bristol-based Lycra lovers making a new kind of uniform for adventure seekers and sparklers all over the world.

We are all about dressing to express and having fun with the outfits you wear. We aim to bring you unique, confidence-boosting, pieces that call to your inner Wild Child.

    How it started

Burnt Soul started as a side project by founder, Robyn, back in 2012. Working as a wedding dress designer at the time, She decided to try her hand at a few catsuits for her and her friends to wear.

Robyn found it hard to find festival outfits she felt good in whilst still expressing her love for all the wild prints and bold colours. Instead, she decided to put her skills to the test and designed her first ever catsuit - something that made her feel confident, despite being dressed head to toe in Lycra.

Demand for the suits grew. Watching peoples apprehension turn first to amazement and then buzzing confidence, was infectious. So in 2015 Burnt Soul was incorporated... bye bye brides!

During that time we've had some pretty mega moments. Making a Disco Ball Catsuit for Miley Cyrus, dressing Ella Eyre for her Feline tour, having not one, but TWO spice girls wear our catsuits and most recently, landing the job dressing The Gladiators for their return to the BBC in 2023.

What has been even more magical is the community that has built up around us. The incredible messages we get for people, telling us their stories of empowerment and adventure whilst wearing Burnt Soul, is truly humbling.

We now sell our statement spandex wear to performers, festival goers, dancers, skaters and adventure seekers all over the world.

    Where it's going

It has become clear over the last few years, the damage fast fashion is doing to the earth. Environmentally and economically.

"The garment industry turns over almost $3 Trillion a year. Yet garment workers, 80% of them women, work for poverty pay, earning as little as £68 a month." - Labour Behind The Label

This is why we are committed to 'Planet & People over Profits'. These are some of the changes we've made in the last few years...

    • Switched to recycled fabrics where possible
    • Source locally for stationary and office supplies
    • Use fully recyclable packaging
    • Recycle all scraps to businesses and community projects
    • Become official sponsors of ocean activists 'Surfers Against Sewage'

But we don't want it to stop there - we're always on the look out for new fabrics and better ways of manufacturing that will benefit our environment so watch this space!
